Forgiveness in Jesus Matthew 6:14-15 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: but if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord. Exodus 32:33 And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book. Malachi 3:16-17 Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. It might seem like a bad thing to say that there are conditions for God's gift of forgiveness offered through the blood of Jesus. But the Bible is clear; God expects certain things from us. However, there is really only one condition: Jesus asks us to walk as He walked. Jesus forgave others their tresspasses. Jesus did not sin against men or God. He was faithful in all things. If we follow God as He leads in our lives like Jesus did, then we have the assurance that our sins are forgiven. Even if we slip up, we are forgiven if we return to Him again.
