Our parents are not responsible Ezekiel 14:20 Though Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall but deliver their own souls by their righteousness. Ezekiel 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. Our parents are not responsible if we sin. The Bible does say in several places that we are responsible for raising our children to walk on the right path. However, it also says, ...if he beget a son, that seeth all his father's sins which he hath done, and considereth, and doeth not such like ... he shall surely live. (Ezekiel 18:14,17). God is able to make us a new creature if we come to him with a humble spirit. If we see the ways that we were misled by our parents and want to change, He can certainly change our hearts to follow the correct path. While parents are responsible for raising their children correctly, they cannot be held accountable once their children have the wisdom to decide for themselves.
