When are we guilty of sin?
.
Job 4:17  Shall mortal man be more just than God? Shall a man be more pure than his maker?

Leviticus 5:5   And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in one of these things, that he shall confess that he hath sinned in that thing

Leviticus 5:17  And if a soul sin, and commit any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the LORD; though he wist it not, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity.

James 2:10  For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

The Bible is clear on this issue.  Sin is an act that we commit.  While we may be predisposed to sin, we are not actually guilty until we commit a sinful act.  We are not "born sinners" who are sinning all the time whether we want to or not.  Instead, through the power of God, we can choose to lead holy lives to Him as Jesus did.  And if we do sin, we have the assurance that if we confess and repent, God will forgive us through Jesus' sacrifice.  What's more, He will give us the power to overcome any future sin!
