If we have comitted our lives and finances to God, we don't have to worry about money, even when it becomes worthless.  It will then be too late to use it to advance God's cause.  If we keep our accounts with God current, and have everything on the altar, there will be no regrets on that day.

 Matthew 6:19   Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
6:20   But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
6:21   For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

But there are not many, even among educators and statesmen, who comprehend the causes that underlie the present state of society. Those who hold the reins of government are unable to solve the problem of poverty, pauperism, and increasing crime. They are struggling in vain to place business operations on a more secure basis.  {MH 183.1}

 Matthew 6:28   And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
 6:29   And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
 6:30   Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, [shall he] not much more [clothe] you, O ye of little faith?
Matthew 6:31   Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
 6:32   (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
 6:33   But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Money seems to them to be a dead loss that does not bring immediate returns when invested in the work of saving souls. The very means that is now so sparingly invested in the cause of God, and that is selfishly retained, will in a little while be cast with all idols to the moles and to the bats. Money will soon depreciate in value very suddenly when the reality of eternal scenes opens to the senses of man.  {Ev 62.4}

Revelation 13:16   And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
13:17   And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name

Houses and lands will be of no use to the saints in the time of trouble, for they will then have to flee before infuriated mobs, and at that time their possessions cannot be disposed of to advance the cause of present truth. I was shown that it is the will of God that the saints should cut loose from every encumbrance before the time of trouble comes, and make a covenant with God through sacrifice. If they have their property on the altar and earnestly inquire of God for duty, He will teach them when to dispose of these things. Then they will be free in the time of trouble and have no clogs to weigh them down.  {EW 56.3}

Luke 16:9   And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.
16:10   He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
16:11   If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true [riches]?
